General public is unaware about the barometer mesaurements of the speed of the Internet, KBPS is Kilo Bytes per Second, Kbps is Kilo Bits per Second and 1 Byte is =8 Bit and so 1 KBPS = 8 Kbps and so it is implied for MBPS that is Mega and 1Mbps is 1024 Kbps and 1 MegaBytes is 8 Megabits.
Secondly the connections are provided on sharing basis that is they commit`upto` and not exact what they mention, if they provide dedicated they change the plan to SME (Small and medium enterprise) or business and home plans are differentiated.
